Moon & Efterklang Unique Film Screenings on Blurt Online

Host a movie screening in your home! Your back yard! Your public library!

In November 2010 Efterklang and celebrated indie filmmakerVincent Moon announced that they were running on a movie together and that it would premiere in February 2011. The picture was shot the previous August on an island off the Danish coast and featured the 8 musicians plus a pile of locals in performances, experiments and collaboration.

Then in December Efterklang indicated they would add that film, An Island, with them on their European tour that starts next month. Dates below, along with a puzzle for the film.

Now comes word that fans can host their own premiere screenings of An Island. As of today people can house up and the screenings will start February 1st and run until March 31st. Moon & Efterklang call these screenings Private-Public Screenings and the rules are really simple:

• The screenings need to get free entrance
• The screenings need to be public.
• The screenings need to get a minimal capacity of 5 people

The screenings need to be verified by Efterklang & Vincent Moon and only screenings that are featured on www.anisland.cc are official Private Public Screenings

In other language as farsighted as trance is gratuitous and it is an open event (as capacity permits) the Private-Public Screenings can have office in your home, at a caf, in a school auditorium or any place you can conceive of. The Private-Public Screenings will run for two months - February and March 2011. The screenings are secret because they are hosted by individual people and public because the screenings are official and open - hence the name Private-Public Screenings. (However, if you project to host a Private-Public Showing in your house so you make total command over who shows up.)

According to the filmmaker and the band, "We desire that a lot of mass will host and attend screenings of An Island. The Private-Public Screenings are our attempt at creating a free and inspiring distribution method for our film. It is besides our endeavor to make something back to our many supporters about the world. We have financed this film ourselves and we trust that we can recoup some of that money through donations. However, the store of the 4 days we spent on the islandof Als in August 2010 and our joy and plume of the finished film is a huge reward in itself."
